Patent abstract The present invention relates to an apparatus for separating an envelope and contents, which can automatically receive contents, such as paper money as a monetary gift for congratulations or condolences, contained in an envelope by separating the contents from the envelope. The apparatus for separating an envelope and contents according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an envelope input for receiving an envelope containing contents; a contents separating unit having a holding menber for holding the envelope received through the envelope input port; and a rotation unit for rotating the contents separating unit about a rotation shaft so that the contents separating unit can make a first angle, a sencond angle, and a third angle with respect to the ground, wherein the first angle is an angle at which the contents separating unit can receive the envelope from the envelope input port, the second angle is an angle at which the contents separating unit can allow the contents in the envelope to fall out by its own weight in a state where the envelope is held by the holding member, and the third angle is an angle at which the contents separating unit can allow the envelope to fall down in a state where holding of the envelope by the holding member has been released.
