Bioremediation for oil-contaminated seawater gradually attracted people??s attention. However, limitations were found. When applying biostimulation, wave and tidal movements could cause the applied nutrients be dissolved or disappear. When applying bioaugmentation, non-native microbes often have to compete with the indigenous. Therefore, we designed a Bio-Can which composing of entrapped oil-degrading bacteria and some nutrient supplements, in the sophisticated equipment. The Bio-Can will keep releasing the bacteria to seawater in order to achieve a successful remediation. The Bio-Can will achieve efficient bioremediation by protecting the bacteria from predominant indigenous and a sustainably application is anticipated.
