The system include a reagent containing a nucleic acid cleavage complex which exhibits high specificity to its target nucleic acid sequence. The system also include a device to provide controlled illumination of specific wavelength to the target cell, tissue or organ or test tube containing the target DNA. Through adequate sequence of light illumination, the DNA would be cleaved at designed sequence position for gene knock out or subsequent editing.
