마트나 식품가게에 냉장 진열된 육류 및 생선에서 흘러나오는 핏물은 미관상 좋지 않을 뿐만 아니라 식품의 선도를 떨어뜨리고 세균번식의 온상이 되기도 하여 소비자들은 이러한 식품의 구매를 꺼린다.
선도가 떨어지면 식품의 맛과 영양상태도 나빠지고 위생적으로 문제가 되어  육류 및 생선의 포장/유통과정이 매우 중요하다.

식품에서 흘러나온 핏물을 제거하기 위해 식품용기 안쪽에 부직포 패드를 깔기도 하나 운송도중 패드가 밀려나 핏물이 흡수된 상태로 노출되어 소비자 들에게 혐오감을 주고 식품 밑에 달라붙어서 일일이 손으로 제거해야한다.

당사는 이러한 문제점을 근본적으로 해결할 수 있는 플라스틱 용기 첨가제 (일명 마스터배치) 및 용기를 개발하여 위생적이면서도 선도를 장시간 유지할 수 있게 하였다.

당사에서 개발한 제품은 합성수지에 흡수성 마스터배치를 일정량(약 5%)을 혼합하여 압출공정을 거쳐 시트를 만들며, 성형할 때 금형으로 핀홀(구멍)을 만들어 주기만 하면 되는 아주 간단한 공정에 의해 생산된다.

소비자들이 안심하고 선택할 수 있는 신선한 식품을 공급함으로써 상품의 브랜드 인지도를 높이고 고부가가치 제품의 국내외 판매활성화로 기업 경쟁력을 높이는데 크게 기여하고 있다.


  특장점

플라스틱 식품용기는 같은 모양으로 대량 생산할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 합성 수지는 친수성이 아니어서 물을 흡수하지 못한다. 물을 흡수한다 하더라도 물을 저장할 수 있는 공간이 없어서 실용화에는 한계가 있다.

당사는 이러한 난제를 극복하기 위해 발포시트를 착안하여 발포 Cell을 물을 저장할 수 있는 공간으로 활용할 수 있게 하였다. 

PS수지는 발포성이 좋고 식품용기로도 많이 사용되며 약간의 흡수성을 갖고 있어서 이를 기반으로 흡수성 트레이를 개발하였다.

PS 발포시트는 친수성이 아니어서 물을 흡수할 수 없기에 물을 흡수할 수 있는 친수기를 갖는 물질을 혼합하였으며, 발포 Cell 속으로 물이 잘 흡수될 수 있는 Open Cell 구조가 형성되도록 개발하였다.

또한 핏물이 발포시트 내부로 잘 흡수되게 하기 위해 성형공정의 금형에 핀을 부착하여 트레이 안쪽에서 물을 효과적으로 흡수될 수 있는 핀홀을 만들어 주었고 트레이 바깥쪽에는 흡입한 핏물이 보이지 않게 설계하였다.

핀홀이 뚫린 층에도 핀홀부분 외에는 흡수한 핏물이 보이지 않도록 설계하여 외관상 혐오감을 주지 않도록 하였다. 

이렇게 함으로써 식품에서 흘러나온 핏물이 핀홀을 통해 트레이 내부로  깨끗이 흡수되어 더 이상 식품에 닫지 않게 하여 핏물에 의한 식품의 부패를 방지할 수 있으며 식품의 선도를 장시간 유지할 수 있게 함으로써 원가절감은 물론 제품의 가치를 높여 소비자들로 하여금 찾게 만든다.

Absorbent tray developed by Samjin Polytech enhances the presentation and the hygiene of food products by absorbing the meat & fish juices into its high-capacity opened cores. This meets the needs from retailers and customers by reducing the leak of the juices from meats and fishes while displayed in shop shelves or moved from the shop to home.

This is ideal for a variety of meets and fishes because the maintenance of freshness is the most important in handling foods, especially for meats and fishes. The losing of freshness gives a bad effect on the taste of food as well as hygiene.

Polystyrene and the Absorbent Masterbatch are mixed at the first stage and  extruded to be foamed, then punched for making the absorbent holes only inside of the trays. As this is a simple process, the users can save the time and cost to pack the foods in trays compared to the existing packing process in the trays with pad which requires relatively high costs of labor and materials for handling the pads.

Absorbent Tray developed by Samjin Polytech can absorb water more than 4~6times of its own weight by designing the inner structure of the extruded sheet  to be open cells which absorb water quickly.

Absorbent Tray helps to keep the freshness and the value of the foods for a much longer span of time compared to the existing pad type trays.
